The third Summit for Democracy is scheduled to occur in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on March 18–20, 2024. A variety of events will be held at the three-day Summit with the theme "Democracy for Future Generations."
A ministerial meeting with participating nations and roundtable discussions with experts on "Technology and Democracy" will take place on the first day of the summit.
Day 2 will include a variety of workshops and booths where Summit for Democracy alums, civil society, and youth organizations will showcase their efforts to shape democracy's future.
Day 3 will see the virtual summit plenary featuring the heads of state and administration of the participating nations as well as remarks from civil society.

International IDEA's engagement with the third Summit for Democracy
A crucial component of the Platform for Engagement with Civil Society (PEC) is International IDEA, which works in tandem with the Community of Democracies, Open Government Partnership, and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. The government of the Republic of Korea is receiving assistance from the PEC groups in organizing the Cohorts, Civil Society, and Youth Engagement Day, which is the second day of the summit.
In addition, International IDEA coordinates Partners for democratic Day 2024, a global forum for civil society and other democratic players, on March 19, 2024, in her capacity as co-coordinator of the Global Democracy Coalition.
All three days of the Summit will have activities that International IDEA will be contributing to. International IDEA is hosting many sessions on gender equality in democracy for the next generation and democratic practices with citizens during a war as part of Day 2 of the Summit. Day 3: To discuss their previous and future participation in the Summit, co-leads of the Summit for Democracy (S4D) cohort will gather in a roundtable hosted by International IDEA and its Chair Luxembourg. Moreover, during the Summit plenary, leaders of state and government of the participating nations will hear a virtual speech from International IDEA Secretary General Kevin Casas-Zamora.
Day 2 of the Summit: The Cohort, Civil Society, and Youth Day
The Cohorts, Civil Society and Youth Day, which is the second day of the Summit, is scheduled for March 19, 2024, at the COEX Center in Seoul. A major component of the Summit is the Cohorts, Civil Society, and Youth Day activities, wherein youth organizations, civil society, and S4D cohorts will showcase their efforts in creating a democracy appropriate for future generations through a variety of exhibition booths and seminars.
