Pakistan echoes the demands for swift action on the UN resolution

The resolution emphasizes the need for the prompt, unconditional release of all prisoners in addition to the ceasefire. The resolution "must be implemented," according to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, in order to guarantee a truce and the "immediate and unconditional release" of all prisoners.

Munir Akram, Pakistan's UN ambassador, expressed solidarity with the resolution and emphasized the "urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian assistance to and reinforce the protection of civilians in the entire Gaza Strip."" He emphasized the necessity of a long-term truce in Gaza while saying that the decision "must be implemented immediately."
Ambassador Akram declared that Pakistan would keep pushing for a fair, comprehensive, and long-lasting solution through the creation of a safe, viable, contiguous, and sovereign state of Palestine based on the pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif serving as its capital. He called this the first step in stopping Israel's brutal campaign in Gaza.
Pedro Comissario, Mozambique's UN representative, spoke on behalf of the ten elected members of the UNSC who prepared and presented the resolution, expressing satisfaction with its ratification and highlighting the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all prisoners.

Algeria, Ecuador, Guyana, Japan, Malta, Mozambique, Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, and Switzerland are all members of the E-10 group.
In addition to expressing the hope that the resolution will lessen Gazan suffering and help bring about long-lasting peace in the Middle East, Ambassador Comissario emphasized the significance of an unbroken flow of humanitarian supplies to Gaza.

"Binding is required."

The UN and a few member states, however, disagreed with the US claim that the resolution on Gaza was "non-binding." Amb Comissario responded, "All UN Security Council resolutions are binding and mandatory," in response to a question concerning the US's designation of the resolution as "non-binding."

When asked if the text was legally binding, British UN ambassador Barbara Woodward responded, "This resolution needs to be implemented immediately." "We expect all council resolutions to be implemented, and it sends a clear and united council message."
During a daily press briefing, UN deputy spokesperson Farhan Haq further underlined that every Security Council resolution was "international law." They have the same legal force as international laws.

The UK's ambassador to the UN from 2009 to 2015, Mark Lyall-Grant, told the BBC that Israel was "under an obligation, essentially, to stop its military campaign for the next 15 days" of Ramazan as a result of the resolution. He clarified that although Hamas was not a state, the language was legally obligatory on Israel.

The resolution on Gaza is non-binding, as stated earlier by US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller during a news briefing.
Separately, according to APP, China applauded the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Tuesday for adopting a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

At his routine briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian answered a question by saying, "It is in line with the correct direction of the UNSC's actions and responds to the general expectations of the international community."

In response to yet another query, the spokeswoman reiterated that the Security Council's decisions are legally binding and urged the relevant countries to uphold their UN Charter duties as well as take the necessary steps to comply with the resolutions.
