KARACHI: Prominent scholars, political leaders and civil society representatives have demanded an immediate end to Israeli aggression in Gaza, withdrawal of the occupation forces and restoration of aid supply to the oppressed Palestinians, calling it the only way forward to save humanity.

They expressed these views while speaking at the Palestine Solidarity Conference organised by the Palestine Foundation Pakistan.

They also supported Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Iraqi and Yemeni resistance forces and asked the government of Pakistan to play a practical role for the Palestinian cause.

A resolution passed by the conference also condemned the silent attitude of the federal government towards the plight of the Gazans.
In a joint resolution, Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam of the Palestine Foundation held the United States accountable for Israel's continuous aggression against Gaza.

"The hostility needs to end right away. Once the aggression in Gaza has stopped, all Israeli occupation forces ought to withdraw from Gaza. In an emergency, it should be made sure that food and medication are provided as well as life support. He declared, "There should be a total and lasting truce, and the Muslim community as well as the rest of the world should contribute to the reconstruction of the homes and structures that have been destroyed.

Senator Taj Haider, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, addressed the gathering and stated that it represented Pakistanis' views on Palestine.
"Public opinion is in favor of Palestine everywhere in the world. He continued, "The people of Pakistan stand with their Palestinian brothers.

Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan stated: "The Palestinian people should receive all aid that is possible." Israeli goods are being boycotted by the public. Their economy has been significantly impacted.

Rauf Siddiqui, the leader of Pakistan's Muttahida Qaumi Movement, expressed remorse at the Islamic countries' guilty silence. "Our leaders fear the United States government." "Palestine's freedom cannot be stopped by any power," he declared.
